How does Skin Needling work?
Dermapen Skin Needling works by creating controlled micro holes with the aim of inducing collagen and elastin production known as CIT (collagen induction therapy). This stimulates the natural wound healing response within the skin producing collagen and releasing growth factors. This process continues to work within the skin for over 4-6 weeks!
What do i need to do before my Needling appointment?
For us to have the best chance at great results we recommend the use of an excellent homecare routine including a Vit A, C & B to help with the health & integrity of the skin. Vit A must be stopped 3 days before your needling appointment. You must avoid sun exposure leading up to your appointment and after your appointment for 2 weeks. A minimum of SPF 30+ MUST be used daily when having treatment.
The number of sessions required will depend on the area being treated, the skins condition and the desired result. Most clients will have 6 sessions although some will require more. Scarring will usually require 6-12 sessions. It is best to book a skin consultation to discuss this in depth before starting your needling journey!
